Are Women-Specific Bicycles Truly Necessary?
I’m a female looking for a new bicycle, either a road bike or hybrid leaning toward road. No matter what I get it will have flat handlebars. What I’m wondering is, do I really need a woman-specific bike? What is the difference between men’s bikes and women’s bikes? Thanks.

Women and men are built differently ! Longer / shorter arms, wider shoulders…It will depend on how your body is shaped. Smaller men might have a better fit with a “woman’s ” bike. Best thing you can do is go to a real bike shop and see how the bikes fit you.
EDIT: women’s and men’s bikes look the same ! The sloped downtube is outdated !
